Founders Day Dinner - May 11, 2024

This was our thirteenth Founders Day Dinner the Las Vegas AOG Chapter held, again this year at the Ahern Hotel in Las Vegas. We were privileged to have Brig Gen Richard A. Goodman, USAF, '97, Commander, 57th Wing, Nellis AFB as our guest speaker. Also attending, was Chrissy Tadlock, President, Service Academies Parents' Club of Las Vegas and Lt Col Richard Marshall, USA (Ret), President, Southern Nevada Chapter, Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). Also were appointees for USAFA Class of 2028 and the US Airforce Academy Prepatory School for Class of 2025 joining us as well as the parents of current US Airforce Academy cadets.

Helping our Community - Food Distribution at Three Square
November 14, 2023

One of our Chapter goals is to support a community project during the year. On 14 November, Chapter members filled bags at Three Square with food to be distributed to the local food banks for Thanksgiving. In just two hours, we filled over 400 bags with fruit and vegetables to go to families throughout the Las Vegas area. We plan to support them again in 2024. Hope you'll join us!

Helping our Community - Food Distribution at Three Square
November 7, 2022


Working with a couple of other small groups, we generated 1,740 bags that equated to 6,960 meals for kids in 2 hours.

Food Distribution with Three Square - March 27, 2021

Thanks to all who joined us at Western High School yesterday to help distribute food for Three Square. They have a smooth operation, and we provided food to over 200 families in a little over two hours. We will likely do this again in the near future and invite you to join us as your AOG Chapter supports our community.

Academy Appointee Send-Off Dinner - June 6, 2019

This was the 15th Joint Send-Off Dinner in Honor of the Academy Appointees of Southern Nevada conducted by the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and the Service Academy Parents Club. It was held at Palace Station. Major Ellie Morgan, Air Force Academy Class of 2006, was the guest speaker.

Poker Night Fundraiser - October 23, 2015

We raised $1,300 for USAFA programs. Tony Hussey was the big winner of the evening. He won a 3 day/ 2 night stay at the South Point Casino that includes show tickets and dinner for 2 at their excellent Silverado Steakhouse. Poker Challenge Fundraiser - November 7, 2014

These are the final four prize winners in our Las Vegas AOG Chapter Poker Challenge Fundraiser. Max James, our tournament sponsor is also in the picture in the blue AFA hat. We had 35 attendees and 23 players and raised over $4000 for the USAFA Endowment. We plan to repeat this fundraiser next year expecting it to grow in popularity. Everyone agreed it was great fun playing with friends, fellow grads, and parents. We even had players from the USNA. Pictured left to right at the table are prize winners Tony Hussey, Bob Kay, Chris Sarda, and Sandra Gommel. This Networking Lunch was a super event for the Chapter. We had some very special guests: USAFA Superintendent, Lt. Gen. Mike Gould, '76 and his wife Paula; Athletic Director, Dr. Hans Mueh, '66 and his wife Sally; graduates of the Class of 1976, Cadet Squadron 36 who were in Las Vegas for a 36th anniversary reunion for the "Pink Panthers", and grads and guests in Las Vegas for the Mountain West Conference basketball tournament.

AOG Reception - March 9, 2011 at Pour 24 In New York New York

The Association of Graduates hosted a very nice reception at Pour 24 in the New York New York Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas during the Mountain West basketball tournament. It was a great opportunity for local graduates to talk with the Superintendent, Lt Gen Mike Gould and Athletic Director, Hans Mueh in addition to our AoG President and CEO, "T" Thompson. Additionally, it was especially nice to be able to talk to several Firstclass Cadets that were able to attend and tell us about Cadet life now and their upcoming assignments in the "Real Air Force".
