I just sent WebGal up to snap some photos of the Cadets moving to and from class.  I suggested she wander around the Fairchild Hall (academic building) 2nd floor until masses of people begin hustling to and fro.  It should be interesting.  You'll get to see the cadets in their natural habitat, armed with backpacks and pencils.

Here is my repetitive, WebGuy-only (unofficial), suggestion to parents. 
When you speak with your cadet, remind them continuously to study.  Remind them that people aren't disenrolled for not having the best shined shoes.  They are disenrolled for failing classes. 

Use this term: EI.  You'll be talking their language.  That stands for Extra Instruction.  Tell them that if they have ANY academic problems, go to their professors for EI.  This is one of the few universities where instructors must make themselves available to help students who ask for it. 

Also, if your cadet is wavering on whether to stay, encourage them to make it through the first semester.  Tell them to give the Academy a fair shake, then make an informed decision over the Holiday Break.  This will give them time to settle in, dig deep, and pull on their reserves of perseverance.

I not long came back from the Cadet area.  I have a bunch of pictures of cadets in their normal day routine.

As I was wandering around I found some Cadets in the Library, so I snapped them up. They all Look like they are studying hard.  Good Job!

As I continued my walk about I some how ended up in some dorm hallways. Oops!  So Snap again as quickly as I could, and  got out of there. I didn't want to end up getting yelled at for not being in uniform or made to go to class!
