Gone But Not Forgotten


MidnightSmall.jpg Captain Francis B. Midnight, Class of 1964, was listed as missing in action on 23 August 1967. His F-4D aircraft was struck by hostile fire over North Vietnam and crashed. On 25 May 1973 Hq. USAF officially changed his status to killed in action. Captain Midnight was survived by his mother, Mrs. Margaret E. Midnight, of 10 Diana Rd., Box 617, Ogden Dunes, IN 46368.

Captain Midnight was named to the Superintendant's, Commandant's and Dean's Lists while a cadet, graduating with majors in Engineering Science and Military Management. He was a member of the Dodo Staff, the Ski Club, and the Ethics Committee. Following graduation, his assignments included pilot training at Webb AFB, TX, and aircrew duties with the 25th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Eglin AFB, FL and the 435th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Ubon AB, Thailand. His decorations included the Air Medal.
