Gone But Not Forgotten


FachSm.jpg Captain Christopher N. Fach, United States Air Force Academy Class of 1964, died of asphyxiation on 19 October 1969 near Kunsan AB, Korea.

Cris reported to the Academy from Santa Monica, CA. While at the Academy, he was a member of the 12th Cadet Squadron.

Upon graduation, Cris was assigned to Undergraduate Pilot Training at Williams AFB, AZ. From 1965 through 1967, he was an F-4 pilot at the 78th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Woodbridge RAFS, United Kingdom. In 1968 and early 1969, he was an F-4 pilot in the 497th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Ubon RTAFB, Thailand. He took a consecutive overseas assignment to the 354th Tactical Fighter Wing at Kunsan AB, Korea, where he was stationed at the time of the incident which took his life.
