Gone But Not Forgotten


DesmondSm.jpg Captain Dale D. Desmond, United States Air Force Academy Class of 1964, died from unknown causes on 30 January 1979 in Springfield, OR.

Dale reported to the Academy from Palmdale, CA. While at the Academy, he was a member of the 15th Cadet Squadron. Upon graduation, Dale was assigned to Undergraduate Pilot Training at Reese AFB, TX. In 1965, he was a C-130 pilot in the 29th Military Airlift Squadron, McGuire AFB, NJ. In 1967, he was a pilot in the 362 Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron, Pleiku AB, South Vietnam. In 1968, he was an RC-47 pilot in the 432 Combat Support Group at Udorn RTAFB, Thailand. In 1969, he returned to McGuire AFB. He separated from the Air Force on 30 June 1970.

He was living in Springfield, OR at the time of his death.
