thank you for your rapid response. Because of your promptness, we were able to contract with the Drury Suite Hotel for a rate of $179, a $50 discount from their quoted rate. With fees and taxes, the total rate is $200/night, which includes a good hot breakfast, an adequate dinner, and a daily Happy Hour and a half. It’s no wonder the Drury is rated the #1 hotel for value vs cost. In addition, it's closest (except for Polaris) to the Academy, and it is surrounded by numerous restaurants along Interquest—most of which have been built since our last reunion. As we did for our 60th, Jenny and I will set up a hospitality room and provide light snacks and beverages for all to enjoy.
Detailed itineraries are yet to be developed. Suffice it to say that, for now, Wednesday and Thursday will remain relatively unstructured, as virtually all of us arrive and get settled in during those two days. As more details emerge regarding the AFA open house on Friday and the Boise State game on Saturday, we will send you questionnaires allowing you to specify your intentions and specific actions needing attention; e.g., hotel reservations and football tickets.
In the meantime, please spread the word about the reunion. Late participants will be accommodated. FYI we have approximately 63 souls committed to attend, and 20 rooms contracted. Participating—most with wives or guest(s)—are: Jim Alexander, Greg Boyington, Jack Brush, Bill Carnegie, Jim Glaza, RG Head, Joe Higgins, Wayne Kendall, Bill Kornitzer, Jon McClure, Ed Nogar, Neal Reavely, Charlie Sands, Gordon Savage, Dick Sexton, JT Smith, Dave Sweigart and Ron Yates, plus several of the locals not staying at the hotel.
Please spread the invitation. All of us are looking forward to seeing all of you!
