Class of 1970
40 th REUNION COMMITTEE MEETING

Meeting Date: 9 August 2010

ATTENDEES: Good turnout locally and 8 call-ins.  Thanks for questions and inputs.

COMMITTEE UPDATES:

Hotel reservations were the major topic.  Marriott is full.  We are using the Hyatt Summerfield Suites down the road for overflow.  See the class web site for further contact info( www.usafaclasses.org/1970/index.html ).  We may have to add a third hotel. Call Suzanne at the Marriott(719-268-4219) or Jennifer Ganzler at AOG(719-472-0300, ext 138) for updated options or problems.

We are soliciting personal pictures to add to a historical DVD.  Send to Roger Hill (Roger.Hill@era.com) in jpeg/300dpi.  Yogi Royce is preparing a music CD of oldies.  Get your desired song titles of interest to him ASAP.  Royce@comcast.net.
His is a new e-mail address.

Merchandise - cutoff date is 15 August to ensure home delivery by the Reunion.  We also have minimum order requirements for each item.  So order early so we can have a count.  If we miss the minimums for an item, they will not produce them.  We do not expect to have a store at registration, but we will have samples to order for later delivery.  That will be a short window of opportunity.

Golf- 53 signed up.  Dick encourages more sign-ups(with realistic handicaps).  Call Jennifer Ganzler (AOG) with names of your foursome.

Cemetary - We will probably have small red flags to identify deceased classmates at the cemetery.

Thursday Mitchell Hall lunch has less than 10 slots left.

Pavilion is on schedule.  We still need $212K to fully fund the building.  We need Squadron reps to continue to encourage all to dig deep for the is extremely worthy cause.  Rich Downing is pursuing solutions to some glitches for the dedication-flyover and video support.

Alternate activities planning is moving to the forefront now.  Sharon Hill will be leading a 3-mile walk around Garden of the Gods on Thursday.  A one-mile guided tour by docent will also be available.  Other activities are being assessed.  Options will be sent out by e-mail prior to the Reunion or be available at registration.

Miscellaneous

Mike Torreano has a restaurant options for Saturday rejoin, particularly for small groups.  If any squadron reps need ideas for dinner options let Dave Gaw know.

Mick Davey to see about using local beer distributor friend to supply beer at Wednesday night mixer at hotel.

Invitations sent to 5 families of our KIA classmates.  No firm responses yet.  We are trying to locate other 4 families.  We will be asking for escorts once we have the attendees.  We are also updating the contact info for all the widows.  Invitations to follow.

One more committee meeting before the Reunion-probably early in September.

Sign up to date is largest ever.  Thanks to all the Squadron reps.
