40 th REUNION COMMITTEE MEETING

ATTENDEES— Gaw, Dahlen, Hill, Gallagher, Gilles, Torreano, Emery.

COMMITTEE REPORTS—
Golf—on tract for Thursday, 0830 shotgun start on Blue course. Identifying procedures for non-golfers to rent carts and be the gallery.
Entertainment—D.J. on contract or Friday night banquet. CD music for Wednesday and Thursday nights. AFA Band will have a 15-20 minute patriotic program during dessert time on Friday night.
Merchandise—Need 1-2 local volunteers to evaluate options and help with some logistics. Vendor identified. Once a menu of items is compiled, on-line ordering will be available.
Pavilion dedication—On contract in two weeks. Asking squadrons to donate 5000 dollars for each classmate killed in SEA for memorial benches and attached plaques. Asking classes of 1959-1972 for donations for wall plaques memorializing their classmates. We are approximately 400,000 dollars short to complete all displays plus a maintenance fund. Dahlen to provide status update letter to the class.
Alternate events—need a volunteer coordinator.
Tailgate—reviewing options.
Hotel—contract signed for 99/night plus some freebies and discounts. Food tasting Feb 23. Indications are for a significant turnout. Will see if hotel will negotiate further discounts.
FUTHER DISCUSSIONS—
Rental car discounts-use military ID, USAA, hotwire.com, Orbitz.
Contact class of 1965 about status of Prep school reunion/staff briefings.
Pictures for class web site prior to reunion-Mueller to investigate options.
GOAL IS TO HAVE REGISTRATION COSTS FINALIZED AND ON-LNE REGISTRATION AVAILABLE BY 1 APRIL.
Attendance update—Many thanks to squadron reps. 38 squadrons are covered. Extrapolation from current interest leads to potential attendance estimates between 280-320 classmates. Encourage all your buddies to sign up for the party.
Next meeting –Late March-Date TBD.
