40 th REUNION COMMITTEE MEETING

Meeting Date: 25 January 2010

Attendees:  Roger Hill, Curt Emery, Dick Rauschkolb, Mike Torreano, Rich Downing, Gary Dahlen, Dave Gaw, Jack Mueller, Jennifer Ganzler(AOG).  By phone:  Terry Petrzelka, Denny Hall, John DeFilippo, Tim Kinnan, Mick Davey.

Committee Updates:

     Event/Entertainment (Roger Hill)-DJ selected for Friday night banquet  ($280).  Roger will check on availability of Academy band for short patriotic music program during Friday night dessert (Thursday backup)

     Hotel (Mick Davey)-contract signed with Marriott for $99/night plus discounts.  Food tasting for menu will be on 16 Feb.

     Memorial/Pavilion Dedication (Rich Downing)- Discussed tentative flow of events.  Memorial service first followed by Pavilion dedication (1 hour service).  Working on missing man flybys.  Guest list TBD.

     Golf Tournament (Dick Rauschkolb)-Set for Thursday morning.(Corona Conference is a wild card for scheduling).  Idea presented to set up several galleries/golf cart convoys for non-golfers to harass the golfers.

     Merchandise (Mike Torreano)-Will evaluate 3 vendors for cost/quality.  Squadron reps to get inputs on preferred items.  Committee will discuss options for registration gift at next meeting.

     Pavilion (Gary Dahlen)- Very close to going on contract for construction.  Squadron reps will be encouraged to have guys visit the web site to see a flyby demo of the design.  Donations can be made through the AOG or the USAFA endowment and 100% of all donations go to the Class Fund.  No admin fees. 

30 Squadrons have representatives.  Jack Mueller to send out e-mail contact info to new volunteers.

Updated tentative schedule posted on web site(www.aogusafa.org) .  Key changes—Thursday cadet lectures cancelled.

Lunch at Mitch’s may be more limited than originally thought.  May have to split between Thursday and Friday.

Friday lunch/class meeting location TBD.

Working to add Prep School reunion/briefings if interest dictates.

Seating at football game will be on east side above Cadet Wing.

Schedule needs to accommodate game-day change for TV.
