NorthWest Falcons '60

7 MAY 2012

Dear Classmates,

On March 6, Dennis, George, Chuck and Nels had a luncheon at Hector's in Kirkland, WA (north of Seattle, see 1st photo).

On April 19th, we held a Founders' Day luncheon at Bahama Breeze in Tukwila, WA (south of Seattle).  Attending were Jim, Vic, Nels,Dennis, Chuck and George (see 2nd photo).

On April 21 on a rare pretty day in the spring, George gave Nels a flying refresher lesson from Tacoma to Hoquim, WA for a lunch at Lana's, the airport cafe and then back to Tacoma.  Nels got several landings and a GPS precision approach.  Life is good when you are flying a Beechcraft on a pretty day.  (See photos).  Next comes a sailing lesson for George in Nels' sailboat.

Regards,

George

6 SEPTEMBER 2011

We had a day of sailing on Nels Delisanti's sailboat out of Tacoma on Commencement Bay.  We had a lunch stop at Anthony's Homeport Restaurant at Pt. Deviance on the south end of Vashon Is.  Those attending were Nels Delisanti, George and Carolyn Luck, Jim and Bev O'Rourke, Vic and Suzanne Yoakum, and Dennis and Linda O'Keefe. George and Carolyn are leaving for a month at their condo in Palm Desert, then a flight instruction job in Fresno and on to the Army game at USAFA.

Jim is leaving for a B373 simulator instructor job in Nairobi, Kenya and Bev, who recently lost her mother, has a cruise in Hawaii.

Vic and Suzanne will be departing soon for a cruise in the Greek Isles, and later for a winter in Palm Desert.

Dennis and Linda also will be away for a special course and tour in Jerusalem, Israel.

And sooooo the flock is scattering, but not before a flight in George's airplane to the Evergreen Museum in McMinnville, OR.  This visit will make up for the cancelled for weather attempt last month.

This picture was taken at the Northwest '60 Falcons luncheon during our sailing outing with Delisanti on Sep 6th.

Pictured l-r are: Dennis and Linda O'Keefe, Vic and Susanne Yoakum, Bev and Jim O'Rourke, Carolyn and George Luck and Nels Delisanti.

Chuck Diver adds:

Due to Deke's attendance, we shed the facade of being Northwest Falcons and assumed our true role as Detachment 13 of VFW Post 63. Let it be noted VFW Post 63 has Detachments all over the world, with many thanks to Deke for that fact.
